Applied Behavior Analysis

What is Applied Behavior Analysis?

Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is the science of behavior based upon learning theory.  It emphasizes analyzing and modifying functional relationships between behavior and the environment.  Dog Love will figure out what is happening immediately before and after the behavior and teach you and your dog ways to incorporate positivity and fun into learning new and acceptable behaviors.  Behavior is either strengthened or weakened by it consequences.  Behavior responds better to positive consequences and that is why Dog Love only employs those techniques.

Timing and consistency are key when it comes to positive reinforcement.  Dog Love uses play, games, and fun to train your dog to have great behaviors!

Imagine the peace of mind you will have when you don’t have to worry about your dog misbehaving while out in public or when others are in your home.  It will make for a happier life for your dog when he is able to socialize with other humans and animals, and you will enjoy being able to include your beloved dog in your daily activities.

Once we know why a problem behavior is occurring, we can replace that unwanted behavior with an appropriate behavior.

“Research has shown that the most effective way to reduce problem behavior is to strengthen desirable behavior through positive reinforcement rather than trying to weaken undesirable behavior using aversive or negative processes.”  S. W. Bijou, The International Encyclopedia of Education, 1988.
